| Call to Order: | Meeting was called to by Heather Kirk, group chairperson, at 8:25 p.m. Meeting start was delayed due to weather. |
Opening Remarks: Heather welcomed everyone to the meeting. The members of Group introduced themselves for the benefit of attending parents. Penny provided background on those present. She noted that some of the committee members come up through the leadership path as contact leaders, while others are volunteers who handle administrative and support roles.
Proposed Agenda: The agenda was approved.
Approval of Previous Minutes: The minutes from the January meeting were adjusted to reflect that Garth Jonah no longer has signing authority over the former Bingo account.
Chairperson's Report: No new business to
report.
Thank you to all for their hard work with Beaveree. The feedback
has been very positive.
Treasurer's Report: Jerry Rankin provided
an update of our bank balances including recent and outstanding
cheques. Apple Day invoices have been paid and Wendy Campbell's
CJ receipts accounted for.
A hardcopy of Jerry's detailed financial report is filed with the
official signed copy of the February minutes.
Quarter Master's Report: Barry Campbell noted that the Scout Shop is now accepting old equipment to be refurbished and resold. He is proposing that we keep 2 of our old stoves but that the remainder be taken to the Scout Shop for this purpose. Steve moved to approve the motion. Kelly provided 2nd. Motion received unanimous approval.
Registrar's Report: Wayne Fontaine reported
that all reference checks have now been completed.
There is still some confusion regarding some of the registrations.
Some of the paperwork already submitted has not been accounted for.
Wayne is working with Lynn to get this corrected.
Youth Rep: Rob Samulack has asked that everyone
send out the parent surveys. He is hoping to visit the Packs during
the Kub Kar event and would like the opportunity to speak with parents at
that time.
Group Scouter: Penny reported a follow up
meeting was held for Beaveree/ Cuboree. Feedback and wrap up
reports will be added to the summary binders for next year's
people. She has asked that any outstanding receipts be submitted
asap so she can wrap up the event. She would like finances settled so
they are available to present to Area. Some monies are still owed
to Earl Stanley but these amounts will be settled in March.
We will be paying directly for the color signs but will then submit to
Area for reimbursement per earlier conversation with Garth.
Early reports indicate we may be close to a break even.
Initial surveys indicate the only real issue was the flow line for
food. Feedback has been very good to excellent.
Kelly noted most people seemed very pleased with the result of combining Beavers and Cubs, particularly those with children in both programs.
Secretary's Report: n/a
