Preamble:
As part of the registration procedure within the 3rd Kanata Scout Group, each family enrolling a youth in the Scout program is expected to provide a Family Volunteer Bond (Bond) that will be held by the Group Committee.

You hereby agree:
The "Registration Package" is not complete and will not be accepted by the 3rd Kanata Scout Group unless the following four items are completed in full and signed: Youth Registration Form, Volunteer Bond Contract, Registration cheque, and Volunteer Bond cheque.

The youth cannot participate in any 3rd Kanata Scouting events nor will he/she be registered with Scouts Canada until the Registration Package is complete and submitted to Group Committee.

If a family does not fulfil its commitment to support the operations of the 3rd Kanata Scout Group, in accordance with this Volunteer Bond Contract, the Bond cheque will be cashed.  A family commitment is considered to be complete when the family has earned a total of 15 points in the applicable Section(s).

Each Section of the Scouting program operated by the Group (that is, Colony, Pack, and Troop) will use the same Volunteer Bond Register/Chart within its Sections.  However, the activities and points for each level may be different, based on the support required to assist the Leaders or Group in running the Scouting program for that Section.  For those families that have youth registered in different levels of the program, it is expected that the families will spread their support efforts to assist all of the Sections involved.  Each family that achieves a total of fifteen (15) points according to the Volunteer Bond Chart for the applicable section(s) will have their Bond cheque returned to them after the end of the Scouting year.

Each section is responsible to maintain a register of the participation by the parents/families, and will advise the 3rd Kanata Group Committee at the end of the Scouting season which Bond cheques should be cashed.

The Group Committee will establish the amount of the Bond for each Scouting year.  The amount of the Bond for this Scouting session is:
         $75.00 payable by cheque, post-dated to April 1, 2009
