April 2001
To all Parents of 3rd Kanata B (Weasel) Cub Pack,
I would like to extend an invitation to everyone in our Pack to attend this year's Carleton District Camporee taking place on the weekend of May 24-26, 2002 at Baxter Conservation Area. This year's theme is Survival - Gilligan's Island style. Please plan to arrive at the campsite between 4:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Click on this MAP link for driving directions. Click on this Kit List link for a list of items each camper should bring.
Fees
The cost is $36.00 per person (youth or adult).
This fee covers the actual costs of the camp, including Park Fee,
crests, T-shirts, program materials, St. John's Ambulance,
parking transport and other administrative costs and meals.
Make your cheque payable to: 3rd Kanata Weasel Cub Pack.
Vehicle
Control
While tent trailers are discouraged, they are only allowed with the
permission of the camp committee. To obtain permission contact
Bernie McMullen, Camp Chief, 838-5937.
TO GAIN ENTRY INTO the park without paying, EVERY vehicle MUST
display a parking pass (completely filled out) in the front window.
Off-Site parking passes will be provided to all drivers prior to our
departure. One coloured "On-Site" pass will be provided for
our Cub Pack. Additional "On-Site" passes can be obtained
at $20 each.
All drivers to camp should use our group and section (3rd Kanata
Weasel Cub Pack) for directions to our campsite. After unloading,
vehicles with "Off-Site" passes will immediately proceed to
the beachfront parking lot. Drivers will be transported back to the
campsites. All "Off-Site" pass vehicles MUST be off-site by
8:30 p.m. Failure to do so could result in a $25 fine to our Group
Committee. Transport from the beach parking lot will end at 8:45
p.m.
Alcohol, Drugs
& Smoking
As with any Scouting event, alcohol and illegal drugs are
NOT PERMITTED at any time during the weekend.
Anyone caught with alcohol will be asked to leave the camporee.
NO EXCEPTIONS !!! Scouting policy doesn't allow
you to smoke in front of the youth. If you are a cigarette smoker,
please find a location away from the youth and ensure that you use a
butt can.
Yours in Scouting,
