B Pack Weasel and Cub Mascot
Third Kanata B Pack Banner

5 December, 2002

This Week: we had a visit to the Carolark Puppy Training centre on Eagleson Road to discuss pet care, training and safety.  The Cubs had fun with "Penny" a highly trained dog and the cubs joined an obedience class for a while.  The badge requirements covered were Pet Care: 2, 4, 5, 6.

Next Week: we will be making Gingerbread houses at the Loblaws at Eagleson road as a Christmas decoration. We have reserved 15 spaces with Loblaws in their bakery section.  Loblaws will provide the assembled kits, icing and decorations with an example for the Cubs to draw on.  We will subsidize this somewhat but it will cost $12 per cub (we will collect at the event).  Loblaws also advises that their material has come in contact with nuts for those who are concerned about this.  This is a project which can look quite nice if done with care - parents are invited to assist their cub as necessary.  Start time is 6:30 PM and completion will be around 7:30 depending on the individual Cub.  Parents provide transportation to and from Loblaws.

I will have to confirm the attendance so that we do not prepare the wrong number of houses (if we make too many we will have to pay for them) so please confirm your Cub's attendance to me at the number below by 5PM on Sunday (you can leave a message if there is no answer).

I will have the tickets for the Play Rumplestiltskin for those who have reserved them.  If you have not already paid Bagheera please bring your money on Monday so I can get the tickets for you.

Yours in Scouting
