Yours in Scouting
This Weeks Programme: This week we focused on activities towards the Health and Fitness Star and the Athletes badge. Cubs were told about warm-ups, how to take a pulse, posture and basic physical fitness drills. Thanks to the parents who came out to help.
Next Week: Next week is a regular programme focusing on Canada and the World. We will look at maps and Canadas place in the world. We are also asking for each family to bring a non-perishable food item for the Kanata Food Cupboard.
Web Site: The Third Kanata Scouts "B" Pack web site is up and running at http://3rd.kanatacubs.com/. Thanks to Paul Patience for setting up the site, hosting and maintaining it. This website will contain our weekly newsletters, the forms we will use for events (which you can download an fill in as required), and special event notices. We will also post the minutes of 3rd Kanata Scouts Group Committee so you can track the planning events of the Group.
Holiday Parade: We are planning on participating in this event on Saturday November 24. Will post information when it becomes available. Our collection of non-perishable food will be our entry fee for the parade.
Christmas Play: A notice concerning the play "The Jungle Book" at the Ron Maslin Playhouse is posted on the website (under events) and has been distributed separately as well. As indicated Baloo (Mark Tunnicliffe 599-8941) is taking names of those in "B" Pack who wish to go. He will provide the numbers summary to Group by 19 November. Please contact him before then to indicate your intentions. This is a great opportunity for a family outing at a very cheap rate and the story of The Jungle Book is the foundation for Cubbing.
Volunteer Bond: We will post the status of the volunteer bond activities on the website. To preserve confidentiality, names have been replaced by numbers. To get your number, please contact myself or Baloo.
