Last Week: we focused on a Recycling theme as well as Tenderpad initiation items (Baden-Powell story, practice with Promise, Law and Motto). The activities included discussion or Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and ways to conserve at home. A game showed the Cubs how to separate material for recycling (so maybe they can be the experts at home now!) and a competitive craft had the Cubs build a recycling "thing" voted on by the parents (Green Six won).
Badge Work: Cubs completed the following items from the Recycling Badge: A4, B1, B2, C3: Thomas T.*, Peter T., Alex M.*, Johnathan R., Connor S., Kevin S.*, Devon S., Eric W., Peter P., Michael F.*, Sebastian G., Bryan C.*, Philip B.*, Jason B., Jeffrey R and Adam T. Cubs with a * also completed item B7.
Badge Testing Night will be 28 October. Have your Cubs prepared to discuss the badge work they have completed with a leader in their Six.
This Week: was no Cub meeting. The school was closed for Thanksgiving.
Fall Hike: The fall hike will postponed one week due to a shortage of leaders. It will be held next Sunday 27 October at 1:00 PM to 2:30PM. Next week's notice will confirm the details but I expect that we will meet at 1:00 PM in the parking lot of the Old Quarry Trail (right across from Hazeldean Mall) and hike down the trail for about an hour working on Observer, Naturalist and Trailcraft items. We expect to be back around 1:15 for a snack and pick up. Parents provide transportation to and from the parking lot. There will be an in area activity sheet at the site for registration.
Next Programme: The next regular meeting is 21 October at the usual time. We will work on Trailcraft for the first part of the meeting and commence investiture of the Tenderpads, Sixers and Seconds at 7:30. Parents of the Cubs involved (which is just about everybody) are invited to attend - you have a part to play!
