This Week we completed the requirements for the Athlete's badge and passed them out. This is the first badge for many of our new Cubs so they were quite excited about it. The Cubs are inspected at each meeting for proper wearing of their uniforms and for general appearance (washed hands, combed hair - that sort of thing). When they are given a new badge, either for their sash or for the uniform, they are expected to have it sewn on by the next meeting if possible (the main reason is to provide the positive feedback which the work of earning a badge entails), so please help your Cub sew on his new badge this week if you can.
We also made a decoration for the Holiday Parade.
Next Meeting (26 November) we will pick up the programme theme of Canada and the World and focus on maps.
Holiday Parade information is posted on our web site. We will meet at the Float (find out its exact location at Kakulu and Castlefrank) and start decorating at 0900. Parking will be limited and you may have a distance to walk unless you have arranged for a drop off car pool so plan the timing. Cubs will need their uniform but dress for the weather (it may rain). We expect that the Cubs will be walking behind the float so they should have comfortable footwear. Please note and complete the permission slip on the website and bring it with you. Akela will be there.
The Play is sold out but an alternate date (This second performance will take place on Saturday, December 15, 2001. Show time will be 2:30 with doors open at 1:45 p.m) has been arranged for those who would still like to go. Please check the website for information and contact myself or Baloo with your requirements.
