This Week: We changed the programme from outdoor sports to an indoor craft session due to the cold weather forecast.  We will look at rescheduling an outdoor event (possibly on an off-meeting night) later on.

Next Week: We will start Kub Kars.  We will need all the help we can get from parents on this project - a chance to do some basic carpentry with the Cubs. Specifically we will need a couple of table jig saws or scroll saws and some parents to help cut out the Kub Kar designs, help with the weights, supervise the sanding and finishing.  The week after this we will do painting and decorating (the following two weeks will be devoted to competition).

Badge Work: Cubs completed one item of Handicraft Badge Item #5.

Cuboree: Just a reminder of Cuboree this Saturday.  It is recommended you leave by 8:30 AM to arrive on time for registration (9:30 to 10 AM).  All participants should have received materials from Bagheera (Trevor Weeden - 271-2607) at the last meeting on the programme and where to go.  If not please contact him or Akela as soon as possible.  A map of how to get to the site is included on our website.

Rink Duty: A reminder that our week of Rink Duty starts 2 February.  Our co-ordinator is Herb Ballantyne who will contact you on when we have clearing and flooding parties planned.  Please give him all the help you can - it's not a one person job!  On that note - the handouts we passed out from the Bridlewood Community Association last week were intended for you to pass on to your local neighbours to let them know how local rinks are maintained.  Cubs were asked to give them to folks close by only.

Winter Camp: We are in the process of planning for our winter camp on the weekend of 22/23 March.  We intend to book the YMCA facilities near Dunrobin (about 20 minutes drive from here) which will include heated cabins, meals and activities.  Our intended programme at the moment is expected to include winter hikes and observation, snowshoeing, winter games, winter camp craft, and camp cooking.  Costs are estimated at the moment at $43 per Cub, $33 per adult.  Since we need to book, with deposit by the end of February we need to have an indication of how many Cubs and parent helpers will attend.  Consequently, please pass in the following information to a leader by 18 February:

Cub Attending: ________________________________________
Parents Attending: ________________________________________
